The East Riding Visual Arts Uplift is proud to present an evening talk by Ian Kirkpatrick, the artist behind the piece, ‘Beverlac’ currently installed in Beverley Guildhall, and previously on display in the Treasure House.
The popular Tiny Treasures sessions are returning to the Treasure House in Beverley from Thursday, 16 September.
The sessions, for under 5s and their accompanying adults, explore different themes from the Treasure House Museum and Beverley Art Gallery collections and take place on Thursday afternoons.
To celebrate the national events of Heritage Open Days, the Treasure House in Beverley will be open for visitors to discover the deliciousness of the collections and artworks to illustrate this year’s theme of Edible England.
A reconstruction of Beverley Library and Art Gallery as it was back in 1910 has been built using LEGO Bricks and is on display in Beverley Library until Saturday, 2 October.
The amazing construction has been built by clever LEGO Brick experts from BrickBox in Hull, to complement the ‘Brick Wonders’ exhibition in Beverley Art Gallery.

Following its display at The Treasure House in Beverley, the first contemporary art commission as part of the East Riding Visual Art Uplift has relocated to Beverley Guildhall for an extended exhibition.
The ‘Brick Wonders – Around the World in Lego Bricks’’ exhibition, curated by artist Warren Elsmore, is now open at Beverley Art Gallery and will run until Saturday, 2 October, 2021.
The exhibition features recreations in LEGO® bricks of amazing sights from around the world. Beginning with the seven wonders of the ancient world, the exhibition also takes in modern, natural, and historic wonders from all seven continents.
The last chance to see the current exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery, ‘To the Water’, will be Saturday, 19 June.
‘To the Water’ has been created by curators Helena Cox and Sally Hayes, and is a unique mix of art and social history, looking at the different ways in which waterways have inspired artists over the centuries.
Beverley Art Gallery in the Treasure House will reopen on Monday, 17 May with a brand new exhibition.

The team at Beverley Art Gallery are excited to welcome four students on a digital placement from the University of York’s ‘Curating and Art History’ undergraduate course.
Students would normally spend their time at the gallery as part of the placements. However, as a result of the current lockdown, this is not possible.
Following the latest government announcement, East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced how East Riding Museums and East Riding Libraries will operate from Wednesday, 2 December, under Tier 3 restrictions.

Beverley Art Gallery has launched a new series of lockdown videos, which can be enjoyed whilst the gallery has to remain closed.
Presented by curator Helena Cox, the videos look at some of the paintings and items which visitors can’t normally get to see, and which are kept behind the scenes in the repository in the Treasure House.
The Treasure House, Beverley is proud to launch its newest contemporary art installation by Canadian artist, Ian Kirkpatrick. This commission is part of the East Riding Visual Art Uplift, a commitment to showcasing and integrating contemporary art into the region.
Following an extremely well-received open call for submissions, Ian was selected, thanks to his unique and vibrant style, to bring a contemporary twist to the region in the form of ‘Beverlac’.
On 1 October 2020 the tenth history board was put in place in Eastgate, to replace a damaged board there, close to the footage entry to the Friary and Eastgate site.
It is the last in the present phase of these boards, which have been warmly welcomed by visitors and residents. The planning of these boards began in 2017, under the leadership of John Bird.
The Treasure House welcomes families from Friday, 9 October to Saturday, 31 October for a Where’s Wally extravaganza.
Visitors will be able to have fun finding Wally lurking amongst the displays in the Treasure House Museum and Beverley Art Gallery in the Where’s Wally Spooky Museum Search. Alongside Wally will be a set of letters, spelling out a spooky word. Families are invited to go all the way and come dressed as Wally!
Saturday, 19 September will see the opening of a major touring exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery – the Royal Photographic Society’s International Photography Exhibition.
The exhibition features the 100 best photographs from across the globe as selected by the RPS, one of the world’s oldest photography associations.
