Hundreds of people turned out in Beverley on Sunday to watch the annual 10k road race organised by Beverley Athletic Club. A record 1089 runners completed the testing course in cool and damp conditions. The annual Beverley 10k road race takes place on Sunday 9 May. Motorists are advised to avoid the area around the Beverley Leisure Centre and Minster immediately before the start of the race. One of Beverley’s traditional seasonal features, the grazing animals, have started to appear on the on the Beverley Westwood. Sheep with their lambs and cattle are starting to come back to the pastures that surround the historic market town. Motorists are advised to proceed with care while driving across the Beverley Westwood.

More than 150 runners from local running clubs gathered on Beverley Westwood on Tuesday evening for the third race in the 2010 Champagne League.
