Another trophy came Beverley Town Cricket Club’s way last Saturday when the 2nd XI won York Senior League Division One.
Although the weather prevented any play in two of the club’s Saturday games and the most vital, the 2nd XI fixture, was also abandoned before completion, news of cancellations and abandonments throughout the league meant the 2nds kept top place in Division one and will be promoted to the York Senior League Premier Division.
There was a stark contrast between last Saturday and Sunday for Beverley Town Cricket Club.
Saturday saw a win for the 3rd XI and three winning draws while Sunday brought Hunters Cup final defeat for the 1st XI and a second loss of the season for the 5th XI.
Last weekend brought another two wins and two winning draws for Beverley Town Cricket Club.
The 4th XI win means they have secured the Holderness Division 4 title with two games to spare. The 1st XI also reached the Hunters Cup Final last Friday evening.
Beverley Town Cricket Club 1st and 2nd XIs produced excellent performances last Saturday to maintain their good runs.
The 4th XI had an easy win to move closer to honours. The 3rds lost a tight game and the 5ths were unfortunate to have their game cancelled due to a rare wet day on Sunday.
Neil Graham was a highlight with his four wickets for Beverley Town Cricket Club third team as they battled their way to a draw at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Town’s skipper Tim Fordon won the toss and put the visitors, title challengers, Hull Ionians Coal Exporters into bat.
