Trying to end North Ribb’s long unbeaten run in the Yorkshire Shield Semi Final was always going to be tough ask but Beverley certainly gave it a good go with all the team turning in one of their best performances of the season. The Beavers gave as good as they got for the first half hour of the game and the last 20 minutes, but a Ribblesdale try blitz around the half saw the visitors jump out to a lead that they would not relinquish.

NHS launches new oral health campaign in Humber and North Yorkshire

NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is launching a new campaign aimed at improving dental health across the region.

Targeting parents of children aged seven and under, teenagers and young adults, the campaign seeks to encourage parents and carers to introduce healthy teeth habits from a young age and persuade younger adults on the importance of oral health and how to improve it.

Goole woman prosecuted after being caught on CCTV dumping waste in back alley

A woman from Goole has been prosecuted for dumping waste in a back alley in the town after she was caught in the act on CCTV. 

Yvette Marston, of Byron Street, Goole, left books, plant pots, a paint tin, some metal and wood, and black bin bags containing a carpet and household waste in a pile next to a rubbish bin in the access road between Milton Street and Byron Street, Goole.

Bin Lorry Fire Leads To New Warning About Dangerous Vapes

East Riding residents are reminded never to throw their disposable vapes in household bins after the latest fire in a rubbish collection lorry. 

A quick-thinking bin crew from East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been praised for dumping a pile of around two tonnes of smouldering rubbish after the load in their truck caught fire on Thursday (23 January) while they were on a regular round in Little Weighton, near Cottingham.

A new solar farm which would provide renewable, clean energy is planned for East Yorkshire, with local residents now being invited to share their views.

The Kingfisher Solar Farm, which would have a capacity of approximately 320 MW, is proposed on land three miles north of the town of Beverley and east of the A164. The proposals for Kingfisher are being brought forward by Ørsted, a global leader in developing renewable energy projects.
